A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to travel to New York City for the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. This is North America’s premier platform for contemporary design, which means it’s a fantastic place to scope out upcoming trends and unique pieces for interior design. With around 700 exhibitors, the show was quite a lot to take in. But, there were a number of vendors and products that really stood out to me, and I’m here today to share a few of them with you.

LuxGlass – Decorative Art & Design by Ann Brieger

Ani Brieger creates custom stencils, plaster installations, and decorative paint finishes of all kinds inspired by her world travel. Her latest product is called LuxGlass, which is a luminescent solution for spaces of all kinds. I think it’s a fabulous way to add luxurious detail to a home, whether for feature walls or for custom furniture pieces.

“Mamma” Wallpaper by Aimee Wilder

Brooklyn-based Aimee Wilder revealed her new silver Mylar wallpaper collection at the ICFF. The collection features whimsical patterns inspired by the late sixties/early seventies and modernized with silver sheen. These are bold, handmade designs that would be perfect in a contemporary home office or bedroom.

Bellevie Bench by Fermbo USA

Fermbo USA specializes in colorful and contemporary outdoor furniture. Their bright benches, chairs, and picnic tables would certainly add a playful pop of color to any patio! I originally saw their products during a vacation to Paris years ago, and I am thrilled that they are now readily available from local vendors.

“Ice” Light Sculpture by Lasvit

Lasvit is a Prague-based company that creates simply breathtaking lighting and glass sculptures (including bespoke pieces). Their designs range from delicate, hanging lights that would add a sleek touch to a kitchen, to intricate light sculptures that could serve as a focal point for a chic living or dining room. They are truly spectacular!

Wüd bedframe

Wüd merges the elegant and the informal in their innovative designs. They use a signature material called Pb-r (metal encased in resin) to create sleek, modernist furniture that requires very little maintenance. With applications for virtually every room in your home and the option to customize designs, these are pieces with some serious staying-power.

Feeling inspired? I sure am! I can’t wait to begin to incorporate some of these designs into upcoming projects. If you’re looking to make a change, I can help you incorporate contemporary designs like these into your home. Give me a call at 617.236.2286 to get started.
