Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you had a very happy holiday season and are as excited for the year ahead as I am. The past couple of weeks have been a refreshing time of reflection, celebration, and refocusing to prepare for what’s ahead. But, before we go charging full steam into 2017, I’d like to take some time to share with you our highlights from this past year.

Leslie Fine Interiors had a jam packed year filled with fabulous projects that took us to locales such as New York City, multiple locations on Cape Cod, Boston’s Seaport and the downtown waterfront, Boston’s Back Bay and South End neighborhoods as well as a number of cities and towns all around the suburbs of Boston. In addition to the day-to-day excitement, we also celebrated milestones, received awards, and attended a handful of incredible events. Here are a few things that stood out for us in 2016:

The phenomenal Venissa winery and restaurant.

In the beginning of May, I went off to Italy’s Venice and Verona for a design (and wine and food!) intensive excursion . We explored textiles, antiques, glass making, tile, stone, and so much more from top craftsmen in the region. We also had the opportunity to tour local vineyards and dine at critically acclaimed restaurants during the trip. Needless to say, I left feeling plenty inspired (and plenty satiated)!

There was very little down time between Italy and my next adventure: a trip to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC. This annual exhibition is the largest contemporary design event in North America and a personal highlight for me every year. This year’s highlights included modern statement lighting, breathtaking brass, and ultra-soft alpaca throw blankets.

This past fall included an especially fun local event, Boston Design Center’s Fall Market. This two day design festival included influential speakers, amazing showrooms, and a gameshow style trend forecasting panel called “Love It or Lose It,” featuring yours truly. I had so much fun talking trends with my fellow designers!

Finally, we rounded out the year with two major achievements. Leslie Fine Interiors, Inc. celebrated our 20th anniversary. During these past two decades, my business transformed from a smaller operation out of my basement to a full service design studio on Newbury Street. As part of this milestone, I launched a consulting program in hopes of sharing my twenty years of experience with others in the design community.

Just as Leslie Fine Interiors, Inc hit the twenty year mark, I received two gold PRISM awards for a luxurious master bathroom remodel. This project was a major overhaul where we achieved some truly remarkable results!!

2016 was truly a benchmark year, and I hope to take on equally exciting projects and go on plenty more fabulous adventures in the year to come.
